When staying in LA, Venice is certainly one of the locations you should consider. This relaxed area has a reputation for great people watching (not only in the well-known “Muscle Beach”), great food, loads of street entertainers and – of course – the Venice Pier Beach. The beach is located right around the area where the West Washington Boulevard hits the Ocean Front Walk. This walk is a paved pedestrian path that runs north and south from the Boulevard, in front of a line of residential buildings and small boutique hotels that all face the Pacific.
Where the West Washington Boulevard ends, the Venice Fishing Pier starts. This 1,300-foot or 400 m long concrete structure is very popular amongst locals for fishing and scenic sunsets.
I made this photo a while after sunset, when the “hidden-behind-the-horizon-sun” tinted the blurry clouds in warm magenta tones.
