Not a lot of comets are or will be visible in this century to the naked eye. C/2020 F3 is one of those. It is one of the brightest comets visible to observers in the northern hemisphere since comet Hale–Bopp in 1997. C/2020 F3 is also conveniently called Neowise. Its name is a credit to the space telescope that detected the comet in March 2020 (even if this is not very precise, as more comets detected by this satellite are called Neowise).
I have tried more than one night to get a timelapse of Neowise from dusk till dawn. One night it finally worked.
The timelapse is shot with 36 MP, thus giving leeway up to 6K (with buffer). It so far is rendered in the “consumer format” H.264 (MP4) and the professional format ProRes 422 (MOV). Unfortunately, here on this website you can only see a quite compressed version (i.e. 60 KB vs. the 2.5 GB of the 4K ProRes). If you are interested in the “full version”, please just shoot me a note under “Say Hello”.
