Aconcagua, Half way between Camp Confluencia and Plaza Francia
The Aconcagua (located in Argentina) is with 6.962 m or 22,841 feet the highest mountain of the world outside the Himalaya. Walking up from Camp Confluencia to Plaza Francia, I made this shot half way between Confluencia and Francia at 4.100 m or 13,500 feet.
Plaza Francia is a camp located approximately at 4.200 m or 13,800 feet at the foot of the famous South Face (Pared Sur). South Face is one of the highest walls in the world, reaching vertically over nearly 3.000 m or 9,800 feet from Plaza Francia right up to the summit.
