The Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial is located in West Potomac Park in Washington, D.C. The monumental memorial is located at the northwest corner of the Tidal Basin near the Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial, on a sightline linking the Lincoln Memorial to the northwest and the Jefferson Memorial to the southeast.
Not difficult to see: I made this photo in the middle of the day. This day was a Saturday. Bad thing was that you are never alone in Washington D.C. at plain daylight during the weekend at such a scenic site. So despite waiting patiently for approximately 15 minutes, it was completely impossible to get a view that was not “obstructed” by many pedestrians. Purists forgive me, but I blended some individual shots together to have the “clean” view that you finally see here. Or to quote Ansel Adams: “Dodging and burning are steps to take care of mistakes God made in establishing tonal relationships.”
